Our deep expertise in employment law forms the foundation of Stembridge Taylor’s offerings. Both of the firm’s founding partners—John Stembridge and Lisa Taylor—began their legal careers practicing employment law, received in-depth training in sophisticated big-firm labor and employment law practices, and built their current business upon that base.
After practicing in larger firms, and then on their own in separate solo law practices, John and Lisa formed Stembridge Taylor with the belief that a smaller firm comprised of a few attorneys who practice law collaboratively pursuant to the same philosophy of top-notch service can more effectively and efficiently handle the issues facing companies and individuals in today’s workplace. Our attorneys are committed to developing a close relationship with each client and thoroughly understanding their needs to develop an efficient, cost-effective strategy for attaining the desired goals.
Our Practice
Our labor and employment law practice includes a full range of services, including day-to-day advice on personnel decisions, drafting employment policies and contracts, and interacting with government agencies on behalf of our clients. Additionally, when litigation arises, we partner with clients to develop an effective litigation strategy, negotiate fiercely to defend our clients’ rights, and offer creative pathways to potential resolution consistent with our clients’ goals and desires.
In addition to our foundational employment law practice, Stembridge Taylor also offers legal services to businesses and their owners that extend beyond the employment relationship. These services include entity formation, drafting and revision of corporate governance documents, drafting and revision of a wide variety of policies and contracts, and representation in many types of business disputes in both state and federal courts as well as alternative dispute resolution forums. We also provide expert representation in civil appeals, backed by agile adaptability to new substantive areas of law, knowledge of the appellate process, and excellent legal research and writing skills.
